Background
Phytoceutical have developed a novel nano delivery platform and in 2021 were granted a first patent in the UK followed by EU patent protection in 2023 and PCT patents pending. Working with experts at the University of Surrey, National Physical Laboratory, STFC and CPI the platform has demonstrated successful bioactive delivery of Vitamin A in the form of Retinol to the dermis with particles of 15 nanometers. The technology uses only low toxicity biodegradable components. Stable prototypes are now available.
Ongoing research includes new holistic approaches to wound care combining biofilm clearance and bacterial control with tissue regeneration without the use of antibiotics. Cell studies and in vitro lab work have demonstrated rapid biofilm clearance and bacteria reduction for Pseudomonas and Staphylococcus with improved wound closure times up to 50% with treatment.
